This page explains what personal data tenants.co.uk collects when you enquire, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the rights you have over it.

Data collected
What we collect
When you submit our enquiry form, we collect the information you give us directly:
- Your name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Property postcode
- Number of bedrooms
- Any message or property detail you choose to add
We do not collect payment details through the enquiry form, and we do not collect any personal data through the analytics service used on this site. See "Cookies and analytics" below.
Lawful basis
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry, prepare your fixed, itemised price, and arrange installation if you go ahead. Replying to an enquiry you have made is a legitimate interest. It does not require your consent, because you have asked us to contact you about it.
Marketing emails are separate from this. We only send marketing emails to people who have actively opted in, using an unticked checkbox on the enquiry form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Data sharing
Who we share it with
Enquiry data is stored in our customer relationship system. Replies are sent from hello@tenants.co.uk, an email account connected to that system.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with any other third party for their own marketing purposes. We only disclose personal data beyond the systems described above where we are required to by law.
Retention
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for as long as it is needed to respond to you and, if you become a customer, to deliver and support the service. Where an enquiry does not proceed, we keep it for a reasonable period afterwards for our own records before it is deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to erase your data sooner at any time. See "Your rights" below.
Cookies
Cookies and analytics
We use a privacy-focused analytics service to understand how this site is used. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across other websites. Because of this, we do not need a cookie consent banner. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights and how to complain
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access: a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: correction of anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Erasure: deletion of your data where there is no lawful reason to keep it
- Restriction: limiting how we use your data while a concern is resolved
- Objection: objecting to processing based on legitimate interest
- Portability: a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format
